‘Green’ system takes top honour in GIMAs

The Botanic Home Composting System from Solus Garden & Leisure has taken the Sword of Excellence in the 2008 GIMA Awards - a timely reminder of the growing importance of ‘green’ products in the garden market.

The system, which comprises caddies for kitchen waste and biodegradable bags, won the Best Environmental Product award and went on to take the top accolade in the play-off against nine other category winners.

For the sixth year running,

Gardman were voted Supplier of the Year by Garden Centre Association members, while Suttons took the Gardenex award for their Italian export initiative.

The awards, presented by broadcaster David Domoney and actress Julie Peasegood at a Gala Dinner at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham, with entertainment by String Mania and comedian Roy Walker, were attended by around 400 suppliers, retailers and guests.
